New Grill for Station 55!
Posted on Jul 4th, 2015
Several Lakewood Trails families recently delivered a new heavy duty Weber Grill to our local fire station, after discovering that their last one no longer worked. Greg Perry, Captain of Station 55 (the Double Nickel) wrote a thank you note to the LTNA board that he asked us to share with the neighborhood:

"It is very gratifying to know that our neighbors appreciate the job we do and to know that we have their support. You have essentially adopted us as your local firehouse and we are honored to be accepted as part of this community...A grill at the fire station is considered an essential piece of equipement, both for the skilled chef and the culinarily challenged. Your gift of a new grill has truly restored a key element of fire station life...we thank you for wishing to make our lives at the station more comfortable and we are very grateful to have such good neighbors and supporters."

You can read his entire letter here, and see photos of your LTNA neighbors delivering the grill here.

Posted on Apr 7th, 2015
The "East Dallas Is" campaign is designed to create a recognizable brand that describes the East Dallas/White Rock Area.

A coalition made up of The East Dallas Chamber of Commerce, The White Rock Partnership and neighborhood organizations have initiated this campaign to celebrate the eclectic and diverse community that is East Dallas. The ultimate goal is a positive impact on property values, increase in homes built and purchased, increase in traffic to local businesses and a focus on better schools.

Mandatory Watering Guidelines
Posted on Apr 1st, 2015
Just a reminder that the twice-weekly watering schedule began again in April. Residents with street addresses ending in an even number (0, 2, 4, 6 or 8) can water on Sundays and Thursdays. Residents with addresses ending in an odd number (1, 3, 5, 7 or 9) can water on Saturdays and Wednesdays. These restrictions apply to automatic or in-ground irrigation systems and hose-end sprinklers only. Watering is prohibited between 10am and 6pm between April 1 and October 31. Watering by hand, drip irrigation or the use of soaker hoses will be permitted at any time.

LTNA Garden Corner
For anyone who has an interest or a passion for gardening, we have a monthly gardening column from our own - LTNA neighborhood Master Gardener, Maggie Saucedo. She will be offering seasonal garden news, information, and “tips” you can use to indulge your inner “Mother Nature” or “Johnny Appleseed.” We will also offer you an opportunity to share your own experiences, information or questions about all things lawn and garden-related! Click on the photo above to read our Lakewood Garden Column for July/August. In this column, Felix Saucedo describes his creation of a water garden with wonderful descriptions and pictures of many different types and uses of water plants.
