On a beautiful Saturday in April, over 60 Lakewood Trails neighbors gathered in the beautiful yard of Imelda and Clinton Haley on Inverness to share plants and seeds and to chat about all things “green” in our neighborhood. The 8th Annual Lakewood Trails Garden Social and Plant Swap on April 28th was a big success with adults and kids alike (thanks to the sandbox and half-pipe in the Haley’s backyard.)
There were lots of yummy snacks, juice boxes for the kids and mimosas for the grown-ups. Neighborhood gardeners were joined by several Dallas County Master Gardeners and Naturalists who also brought lots of great plants to share. Several door prizes were given away, including a beautiful succulent pot, courtesy of our Yard of the Month sponsor, North Haven Gardens. The attendees scored lots of free plants and the leftover plants were donated to the Tinker Family chickens down the street! It was a great way to spend a Spring Saturday in the neighborhood.
