Although we have all been spending more time at home during the pandemic for the last few months some LTNA neighbors have been making the most of this "sheltering at home" time by planting and tending their very own vegetable, fruit and herb gardens at their homes. They build gardens in backyards, front yards, side yards and alleys. Some neighbors even have their very own chickens! And the rewards of their labors are fresh and delicious produce AND eggs right outside their doors.
Urban farming is something that that brings families together and promotes physical activity and togetherness in the great outdoors. Kids can learn exactly where their food comes from and how to grow it. Not to mention the delicious meals that can be made from the harvest, which makes this whole "stuck at home" thing so much more enjoyable!
