On Saturday, May 18, Friends of the SoPac Trail held their family friendly Garden Party located at the intersection of Fisher Rd. / Santa Barbara Dr. / SoPac Trail, at the respite area and pollinator garden. Our stunning garden was one of eight gardens highlighted that day on the Dallas County Master Gardener Tour's. Master Gardeners were at the SoPac Garden all day, answering questions about the plants, and the work done to create our neighborhood masterpiece.
We had close to 200 people who came by to tour the garden and visit all the tables. Lots of kids (and adults too) enjoyed the craft activities, display of caterpillars and their host plants, talking to the beekeeper, and decorating our shade area with chalk drawings. The Sno-Cone truck was also popular. The Friends of the SoPac Trail would like to thank all the Lakewood Trails neighbors who helped out with the garden tour and the SoPac Garden party!
