Yard of the Month
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR LTNA

We proudly award our April 2026 Yard of the Month to 4422 Santa Barbara, the beautiful home of Sally and Matthew Mitzner. The Mitzners, who joined our LTNA neighborhood in 2023, maintain a yard featuring a gorgeous red rose bush in full bloom, alongside a Japanese maple, planters of yellow and purple pansies, Swiss chard, winter cress, and other ornamental foliage. They also have a dry creek bed on the side of their house. This is a functional and aesthetic landscaping feature designed to mimic a natural stream, utilizing rocks, boulders, and gravel to manage stormwater runoff and prevent erosion.

Sponsor of the Month
Sponsor of the Month: North Haven Gardens!

LTNA is proud to feature our longtime Live Oak Sponsor North Haven Gardens this Spring! They have generously sponsored Lakewood Trails Yard of the Month program for many years.

North Haven Gardens has been serving the gardening community at the same location for 75 years, offering the very best in plants, products and gardening advice.

SATURDAY MEN'S WALK
Posted on Nov 22nd, 2025
Larry Hance, an LTNA board member who lives on Sperry St has spearheaded a regular men’s walk. This is an informal get together, and walk, from the SOPAC garden toward the lake and around the area, probably for an hour or so weekly, and of course, you can turn back whenever you’d like (or keep going!). The men enjoyed walking the trail during spring, and now that they weather has cooled off, they are back to walking again.

The purpose is to give men in our neighborhood a chance to meet, connect, and maybe build some long-term relationships. Or for some, it’ll just be a little exercise! If you’d like to try it out, they will be meeting Saturday morning, November 22, at 8:00am. Please meet under the shade structure by the SoPac Butterfly garden area. And if you can’t make this, but are interested in future walks, you can reach out to Larry directly at larryhance@gmail.com  or on the Lakewood Trails NA Member GroupMe app.
