BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE
Maggie Saucedo, Chair
Mission Statement: Encourage a sense of community pride through projects that enhance the beauty of our neighborhood.
 
Our Focus:
  • Spring Garden Social – Participate in the planning / setup of our Spring Garden Social. 2022 GARDEN SOCIAL
  • Yard of the Month - Help select Lakewood Trail's Yard of the Month. 2022 YARDS OF THE MONTH
  • SoPac Trail Clean-Up - Pat Watson, Chair – Participate in the cleanup of LTNA’s adopted area of the SoPac Trail, from the Respite Garden south to Lakewood Park on the 2nd Saturday of the month.
Our Neighborhood Projects:
  • SoPac Respite Garden - Maintain the SoPac Respite Garden. 2022 SOPAC TRAIL BUTTERFLY PLANTING
  • Blackland Prairie Remnant - Help restore and maintain the Native Blackland Prairie remnant that is located on Williamson adjacent to Lakewood Park. 2022 BLACKLAND PRAIRIE PLANTING
  • Williamson/Mockingbird Traffic Island - Maintain the garden at the Williamson Triangle.

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE
Sylvia Nolan, Chair
Mission Statement: Promote information sharing and engagement with our fellow Lakewood Trails neighbors
 
Our Focus:
  • Website-Email Administrator - Sylvia Nolan– Maintain and update website content on upcoming events, important city news, and neighborhood photos. Draft and edit short articles about neighborhood news for our emails. Create Event Announcement flyers.
  • Facebook Administrator - Clare Rabe DeBoever - Draft and edit short articles about neighborhood news for Facebook. LTNA FACEBOOK PAGE
  • Graphic Designer – Assist with projects in need of graphic design. 
  • Photographers  - Clare Rabe DeBoever and Larry DeBoever – Photograph LTNA events. Post event photos on our website. 
  • Event Announcement Distribution – Assist in the distribution of event flyers throughout the neighborhood.

EVENTS
Mission Statement:  Plan events that will bring our neighborhood together through social events and community service, and implement fundraising opportunities that will give back to our neighbors.
 
Our Focus:
  • Halloween Block Party - Christie Tinker, Chair– Help plan the event of the year! Families gather together to enjoy food, fun and festivities. 2022 HALLOWEEN PARTY
  • Other Social Events Have an active part in planning other neighborhood events: our Annual Member Mixer, Cinco de Mayo party, Fourth of July flag distribution, and more!  2022 ANNUAL MIXER/MEETING  2022 CINCO DE MAYO CELEBRATION  

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
Laurene Rosen, Chair
Mission Statement: To build a stronger Lakewood Trails Neighborhood Association by encouraging participation and supporting membership.
 
Our Focus:
  • Annual Membership Drive - Assist in the distribution of membership letters to the entire neighborhood. 
  • Membership Roster - Laurene Rosen - Maintain a list of all of our active members and Friends. 
  • Welcome New Neighbors – Andrea Huffman, Chair - Provide a Welcome bag to new neighbors.
  • Sponsorships – Greg Wallace, Chair - Recruit and retain local businesses to support LTNA through donations. Help create partnerships with local businesses to provide items for Welcome New Neighbor bags, and Partner cards.

CRIME WATCH and PET WATCH COMMITTEE
Felix Saucedo, Chair
Mission Statement: Help maintain the safety of the neighborhood. Conduct activities to help keep the neighborhood informed and educated in crime prevention.
 
Our Focus:
  • Crime Watch – Help promote education and awareness to keep our neighborhood safe from crime; continue to develop and maintain a strong relationship with Dallas Police Department Northeast by volunteering at DPD events.
  • Holiday Meals for our Service Providers - Volunteer to help cook and/or deliver food for the annual Thanksgiving Meal for Fire/Rescue Station 55 and the Christmas Meal for our police officers. 2022 THANKSGIVING MEAL FOR FIRE STATION 55  2022 CHRISTMAS MEAL FOR DPD
  • Pet Watch – Help neighbors who have lost a pet or those who have found a lost pet.

LAKEWOOD TRAILS KIDS
Mission Statement: Focused on families with young children in our neighborhood. Help parents and grandparents with young children meet each other and also to sponsor activities for children in the neighborhood.
 
Our Focus
  • Playgroups – Help connect families with children in Lakewood Trails, by forming playgroups that meet regularly.
  • LT Kids Events – Sponsor activities such as parent’s night out, parades and meet and greets for neighborhood children and their parents. 2020 VALENTINE COOKIE SWAP  2022 EASTER EGG HUNT

SUNSHINE COMMITTEE
Leanne Cannon, Chair

Mission Statement: Focused on reaching out to those in our neighborhood who are ill or who have suffered a recent death in the family. Please alert our Sunshine Committee if you know someone who needs neighborhood support at Sunshine@LakewoodTrails.net.
