VIP Training
Saturday, October 13th, 2012, 10am to 4:30pm at City Hall
Got a car and a pair of eyes? We need you! Become a VIP (Volunteers in Patrol)! VIP is a group of Lakewood Trail Volunteers who patrol in their cars and report anything suspicious to 9-1-1 and 3-1-1. This is a non confrontational group and does not carry weapons. Members choose the time and days they can volunteer. Members must first complete a background check and VIP training through the Dallas Police Department in order to participate. A VIP group is the number one thing a neighborhood can do to help control crime.

The next scheduled VIP training class is on Saturday, October 13th from 10 AM to 4 PM at City Hall.  From Phil Goron, Sr. Corporal, DPD, Northeast Division:

"We will meet at the Northeast police station located at 9915 E NW Hwy at 9:15 AM and take a van to City Hall.  We should return back to the police station around 4:30 pm.  Applicants MUST have their applications, signed waiver of liability, and confidentiality agreement turned in to me no later than Wednesday, October 10th so that I may have time to conduct a background check. Applicants MUST RSVP for this training to ensure there is enough room in the van for all of the students. Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you!"
