Valentine Cookie Swap
Saturday, February 4th, 2017, 3pm at 6940 Inverness
Save the date! Bring your kiddos and some Valentine's cookies to share! Kids will be decorating greeting cards and bags for the cookies and then deliver them to special neighbors. Paul and Sherri Barrett will graciously host this popular event in their backyard. More details coming soon...
FTLOTL Second Saturday Shoreline Spruce Up
Saturday, February 11th, 2017, 8am at FTLOTL offices, 1152 North Buckner Boulevard, Suite 123
LTNA participates in the Adopt-a -Shoreline project with “For The Love Of The Lake.” We meet the 2nd Saturday of every month. Our clean up area at White Rock starts at the corner of Winsted Dr and Garland Rd and continues north to the train trestle.
Anyone can help us; just remember to register at the For the Love of the Lake Office (1152 North Buckner Boulevard, Suite 123) at 8am prior to working.  A continental breakfast and clean up supplies are provided. For more information or to join our team contact Pat Watson at 214 531 1299.
Dallas Water Utilities' Water-Wise Landscaping Seminars
Saturday, February 18th, 2017, 9am to 5pm at Performance Hall (Building “E”) at Mountain View College, 4849 W. Illinois Avenue, Dallas 75211
Plan to attend one or both of Dallas' no-cost Water Wise seminars,
 
Landscape designer and author Bonnie Reese will be the speaker at both sessions. Ms. Reese has more than 20 years experience designing, installing and maintaining landscapes in North Texas and is the owner of her own landscape design and consulting company - Beautiful Landscapes (BeautifulLandscapes.net). First-time seminar attendees at each session will receive a copy of Bonnie’s book, “Common-Sense Landscaping” (limit one per household). Attendees can also enter a drawing to win a bag of Green Sense organic fertilizer from Rohde’s Nursery & Nature Store (BeOrganic.com). There will be 3 drawings per session.
 
Water-Wise Landscape Design 101
9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Whether you have a new landscape or plan to update an existing area, it is critical to begin with a good design. This program teaches the principles of landscape design with an emphasis on how to create a beautiful landscape that will save resources - natural and financial!
 
Fantastic Plants for North Texas
1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Using colorful photographs, Bonnie demonstrates the natural beauty of native and adapted plants that thrive in the North Texas region. Learn when, where and how to plant each of the recommended plants, their size and height at maturity, seasonal color, texture and more. This program provides information on trees, shrubs, vines, perennials, ground covers and turf grasses.
