In January 2020, our clean up team began picking up litter on the SoPac Trail adjacent to our neighborhood. The previous seven years our clean up team maintained an area near the spillway and Winsted Road at White Rock Lake. Our new clean up site begins under the Mockingbird Bridge continuing to the Trestle Bridge near White Rock Park. The clean up takes about an hour. We meet the 2nd Saturday of every month at 8:30am.
Singles, couples and families are welcome. Kids love using the grabbers and take pride in picking up litter. Teens may earn community service hours and may flex their hours. If you are interested in joining our team or need more information please email Chairperson Pat Watson, Neighbors@LakewoodTrails.net or call her at

Bulk Trash Pickup
Sunday, April 17th, 2022, All Day Event at Your front yard
The Dallas Sanitation Department provides once-a-month brush and bulk collection for residential customers. Current requirements regarding the City of Dallas brush and bulk trash collection for 2022:
QUANTITY: You can set out up to 10 cubic yards (the size of one normal size gas range is about 1 cubic yard).
SEPARATE: You must separate brush from bulk items. Place them 3 feet apart from each other.
APPS: There are two city apps available to help you. Download “Dallas Sanitation” mobile app and receive collection reminders. The “Good Garbage” app allows you to share useful items with your neighbors.
SCHEDULE: Lakewood Trails pickup is still the THIRD FULL WEEK of the month. Residents are allowed to set out their brush and bulk as early as the Thursday before their Brush and Bulk Week and as late as 7am the Monday of their Brush and Bulk Week. Using January as an example: You can set out your brush/bulk as early as Thursday, Jan. 6 and as late as Monday, Jan. 17 at 7am.
